At William Hill we're committed to looking after the people and the places where our colleagues and customers live and work. That's why we held our first ever Community Week!
During William Hill’s Community Week, colleagues volunteered to share their time and skills with their communities. Through our partnership with Neighbourly, colleagues were given the opportunity to sign up to support causes that matter to them, in their local area.
Our colleagues volunteered over 200 hours throughout Community Week, achieving a wide social impact, with a particular focus on the environment and wellbeing. Led by Charity Champions and involving colleagues from across all areas of the organisation, volunteering took place across seven projects in Glasgow, Falkirk, London, Leeds and the Northeast. William Hill also made donations to the projects to support colleagues’ efforts on the day.
One of the projects saw a team of colleagues in Leeds offer support to ‘Making Beeston Bloom’, an initiative to help maintain local parkland. Representatives from the charity said:
"We had a long list of jobs for the volunteers to do and couldn’t believe that they managed to finish them all! They all worked hard, and we would be grateful to have them again."
