Actor Mark Wahlberg placed the first sports bet in the $400 million Ocean Resort Casino with William Hill on Thursday 28th June.
The venue is William Hill’s second licenced venue in New Jersey which only began legalised sports betting on June 14th – the first venue to take a sports bet was William Hill’s Race and Sports Bar at Monmouth Park Racetrack.
The rapper placed a $100 bet on the Philadelphia Eagles at 8/1 to win the 2019 Super Bowl as well as $100 on the New England Patriots at 6/1 admitting he always "bets with the heart".
Commenting on the news William Hill CEO Philip Bowcock said: "We’ve seen incredible enthusiasm from sports fans at Ocean Resort Casino and we are delighted to open our second venue in New Jersey just a fortnight after betting became legal in the state."
