We are proud to officially launch our ‘charity of the year’ partnership with the MND Association.
The MND Association are a UK charity dedicated to improving access to care, advancing research and advocating for people affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
The charity was selected following a colleague-led review of potential charity partners, and was chosen by Leisa Byers, evoke colleague and Regional Operations Manager, whose niece Tamara was diagnosed with the disease at just 26 years of age.
Before her diagnosis, Tamara had an active life, competing with her ex racehorse. Whilst Tamara’s love of her animals remains unchanged, her ability to go out into the yard and ride her horses has been taken from her. Her story has impacted so many, including her Aunt Leisa’s friends and colleagues at evoke.
Take a look at Tamara's story below:
In November 2024, we raised £117,000 at our inaugural ‘evoke the stars’ charity gala evening, hosted at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. We are now excited to see what we can achieve together as an official partner of the MND Association for 2025.
We will be looking for different ways to fundraise and support the MND Association throughout the year, starting with evoke colleague places being offered in the upcoming Rob Burrow Marathon and Half Marathon in May.
Our support for the MND Association will help the charity to provide essential care services to those affected by MND and to fund groundbreaking research to help the charity come closer to finding effective treatments and ultimately, a cure.
