Our Safer Gambling Week 2020 campaign was designed to utilise our entire media and sponsorship portfolio in support of ‘Safer Gambling Week- #SGWeek20’ which took place from 19-25 November.
At the forefront were a series of mini-clips and personalised messages from our sports ambassadors and sponsorship partners, promoting #SGWeek20’s core objective of broadening the conversation with customers and the broader public on gambling and its associated risks.
The ambassadors used included; Anthony Joshua, Robbie Savage and players from Tottenham Hotspur all messaged were designed to help drive awareness of safer gambling tools, protections and national resources for advice and information.
Safer Gambling week also topped our marketing inventory for November across our press, TV and social media channels.
Safer Gambling week in retail was challenging after the closure of all shops in England, but the initial feedback from both Scotland & Wales suggests a highly successful campaign. The window displays were eye-catching, and we went the extra mile by producing multi-language leaflets in relevant parts of the country. The top screen video on the gaming machines was also impossible to miss.
Phil Walker, William Hill UK Managing Director, said "Our teams have once again delivered an impactful Safer Gambling Week activation, and I would like to thank all our colleagues involved in bringing this important campaign together. Early indications are that it has been a really impactful campaign, which has delivered the key objectives."
